ABOUT THE ART WORK 

Inspired by the iconic album cover of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill and by the fact that I often find myself listening to the album while creating, Legacy art is made entirely from reclaimed denim and beads to explore themes of sustainability and renewal. Denim is a material that is often discarded despite its durability and universal presence in our everyday lives.  Currently, global overconsumption keeps contributing to more textile waste and environmental degradation, whis impact all of us. This piece challenges the culture of constant disposal and replacement.

As i was reflecting on Lauryn Hill's only solo studio album, a work that continues to resonate across different generations, i kept asking myself how can i can create artwork that celebrates how creativity can be continually rediscovered and reborn through new ways of my creative process.

Just as the album has remained culturally relevant decades after its release, i want my work to be timeless and even passed down through different generations. Legacy Art connects environmental sustainability with cultural sustainability while demonstrating how both materials and messages can be preserved and passed forward to future generations.

Legacy Art  is a one on one original Art work no edition will be recreated at this scale.
