I’m okay is about breaking the silence it explores how societal norms urge men to hide emotions, leading to difficulty of expressing emotions , feeling trapped in rops . the piece is inspired by personal conversations and the loss of a genuinely happy friend to suicide in 2018, the artwork aims to spark mental health discussions. It’ a reminder to black men that their struggles are seen, encouraging them to speak up & recognize more within themselves the struggles they experience.
HEAL : Don't seal wounds for others while you are bleeding. Be patient and allow yourself to heal because you deserve more than open
Bantu ( people ) : There is no such thing as "you are supposed to have good hair or your natural hair should be fixed ." Every hair texture is beautiful. Wearing our natural Black hair in it natural state or other styles like Bantu knots doesn’t make our hair any less attractive as black woman. Our hair is beautiful, it's not less attractive or less professional. And we shouldn’t let this world convince us otherwise.
