Why does the durag have no place on the list of accepted aristocratic accessories?

Β

Β Your prejudice is showing.

Dark skin and a durag are a deadly combination.

We look dangerous.

Fear my elegance, fear my power.

Learn to fear the weight behind my word when I tell you You think you're made of gold, but I am dripping in denim.

And I've seen the head tilts, the confused looks.

Meanwhile I'm wondering how to make you see my beauty.

You judge and I can't take it anymore.

Is self-care for the poor?

You choose to associate it, not with the royal treatment it deserves but a dirty, inferior version of what it is. Dirty looks, dirty durag.

Durag is not a dirty word.

Β

Is fashion left to the criminals?

My power is critical, it comes from within, but I am bursting at the seems.

You see it in the colour of my skin, the texture of my hair, the fabric on my head. So you see why I'm confused as to how aristocracy forgot the durag.
